Villa Tintamarre is a one-bedroom bungalow in the hills above Orient Bay, a small, private perch built for two. It looks east over the turquoise of the bay, so the day begins with the sunrise coming up over the water. For two, it asks for nothing more.
The bungalow is simple and warm, with an open layout that keeps the view in front of you from the living space. The terrace is the real room here, wrapped in palms and tropical greenery, shaded and private: coffee as the sun comes up, a glass of wine under the stars at the end of the day.
Tintamarre is the twin of Villa Pinel, which sits right next door. Traveling with another couple? The two bungalows combine into a private two-bedroom compound that shares the same view, close together but each with its own space.
The hillside setting is quiet, but Orient Bay is close. The beach, with its clubs and calm water, is a short drive down; Grand Case and its restaurants are roughly twelve minutes north, and Princess Juliana Airport is around twenty-five minutes by car. For a dinner out on the beach, we send guests to Le Telegraphe.
Ask us and there will be coffee and breakfast in for the first morning, and a lounger held for you down on Orient Beach. At $1,100 a week in low season, Tintamarre is the least expensive villa we list, which for a honeymoon or an anniversary is an easy yes.
