Villa C'est la Vie sits right on the sand at Plum Bay, inside the gated Terres Basses community, a six-bedroom beachfront house for up to twelve guests. It comes with a private chef in the rental, which puts it in the small group of houses here where dinner is handled from the moment you arrive.
The terrace is built around a heated pool with a bar set into it, so drinks happen without leaving the water, and a jacuzzi alongside for the evening. Plum Bay is a few steps past the loungers, which is about as close to the beach as a villa gets on this side of the island.
Six bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and air-conditioning: four sit either side of the house, and two more are reached by a glass staircase, tucked away but still part of the group. There is a sauna, a sound system through the house, and three outdoor showers for coming straight off the beach.
The chef cooks Caribbean dishes using ingredients grown on the property, so most meals are at home; when you want a night out, Grand Case and its restaurant row are a short drive north, and we send guests to Bistrot Caraibes. Princess Juliana Airport is about fifteen minutes by car.
With the chef already part of the house, we just stock the kitchen to your list before you arrive. At $33,000 a week in low season for all six bedrooms, C'est la Vie puts the beach at the door, the swim-up bar within reach, and someone else at the stove all week.
