Villa Nirvana – Luxury Villa in Terres Basses, Sint Maarten

Terres Basses is the most sought-after residential address on the island, a gated peninsula on the French side with no through traffic, private beaches at either end, and a quiet that is hard to find elsewhere in the Caribbean. Villa Nirvana sits in the heart of it, recently renovated on generous grounds, with a private sand volleyball court, a long pool flanked by coconut palms and hammocks, and a jacuzzi off the master terrace. It suits a family or group of up to twelve, and rents as four, five, or six bedrooms.

The master suite has its own garden terrace with loungers, an outdoor shower, and direct jacuzzi access. Four further bedrooms are arranged around the pool, two with pool views and two garden-facing, each with a private bathroom. The sixth is fully independent, with its own exterior entrance, patio, and hammock, a good room for a couple who want their own corner or for staff.

Inside, Nirvana feels genuinely tropical: rattan, natural weaves, and warm timber against white walls and high ceilings, with several living and lounge areas so a large group can spread out. For an even bigger party, the villa combines with the adjacent Beach Cottage for an eight-bedroom compound.

The beach is about eight minutes away on foot through the dunes, Sandy Ground is close for groceries, and Princess Juliana airport is fifteen minutes by car. For dinner, La Cigale on the sand at nearby Baie Nettle is an elegant French bistro that has held this beach for years, and our concierge can book the table, arrange transfers, and stock the kitchen before you land.

Low-season weeks start at $6,195 for four bedrooms and $8,995 for the full six. Late afternoon is for the hammocks strung between the palms, a game winding down on the volleyball court, the pool going still as the light drops over the peninsula.
