Villa Emeraude – Luxury Villa in Indigo Bay, Sint Maarten

Villa Emeraude sits on the hillside in the gated Indigo Bay community, on the Dutch southwest coast, with a wide view over the Caribbean and the silhouette of Saba out to sea. It is a modern four-bedroom house, open and full of light, that suits a family or a group of friends.

The design leans on natural materials: timber and stone run through the walls, furniture, and details, which gives the house warmth against the clean modern lines. The living room opens straight onto the terrace, and a solid wood dining table anchors the space next to a kitchen set up for cooking or for a private chef.

Each of the four bedrooms is en-suite with modern fixtures, and the layout keeps everyone comfortable without stacking rooms on top of each other. Beyond the bedrooms, the house has a gym for anyone keeping a routine and a hot tub for the evenings.

The terrace and pool make the most of the hillside, with the sunset dropping toward Saba at the end of the day. Indigo Bay is quiet and gated, but it sits close to the busier Dutch side.

Simpson Bay, with the island's densest run of restaurants, is about ten minutes away, and for dinner out we send guests to IZI Ristorante, one of the better Italian kitchens on that side. Princess Juliana Airport and Marigot are each around fifteen minutes by car. A stocked kitchen, a chef, or a dinner reservation can all be set up before you arrive. Low-season weeks start at $10,500; what Emeraude trades on is the evening, the sunset dropping toward Saba while the timber-and-stone rooms glow behind you.
