About Villa Casa de la Playa
Villa Casa de la Playa is a five-bedroom beachfront estate on Plum Bay in Terres Basses, with 400 feet of west-facing sand, an infinity pool, a rooftop daybed, and an in-house French chef. Rentable from three to five bedrooms.
Villa Casa de la Playa is a five-bedroom estate directly on the beach at Plum Bay, in the gated Terres Basses community, sharing the same stretch of west-facing sand as the La Samanna resort. It rents as three, four, or five bedrooms, and it comes with an in-house French chef and waiter, so most dinners happen at home without anyone lifting a finger.
Casa de la Playa is built around a Great Room under vaulted Brazilian cherrywood ceilings, with sliding glass doors that open the whole space onto the covered terrace. Inside there is a grand piano, a billiard table, and a home cinema loaded with hundreds of films, plus a small office with a Mac for anyone who has to check in with the outside world. The freeform infinity pool has a diving board and looks straight out to sea.
The standout is the roof. A rooftop terrace with a built-in daybed catches the full sweep of the horizon, with Saba, St. Eustatius, and St. Kitts lined up across the water. On some nights the caretaker sets up an outdoor cinema in the garden, films under the stars, the kind of thing guests remember long after the trip.
The master suite runs to about 800 square feet, with a soaking tub and a rainfall shower, and sits apart from the other four bedrooms for quiet. One of the rooms is set up for children with two double beds. With 400 feet of beach out front, the sunsets are the west-coast kind Terres Basses is known for.
Princess Juliana Airport and Marigot are each about fifteen minutes away, and Grand Case sits a short drive north for a night out at the lolos, Cynthia's Talk of the Town among them. Between the chef, the waiter, and the caretaker the house mostly runs itself; we handle transfers and anything that falls outside their remit. At $27,400 a week in low season for all five bedrooms, Casa de la Playa is a small hotel you happen to have to yourself, 400 feet of sand out front and someone already in the kitchen.
