Casa de la Playa is built around a Great Room under vaulted Brazilian cherrywood ceilings, with sliding glass doors that open the whole space onto the covered terrace. Inside there is a grand piano, a billiard table, and a home cinema loaded with hundreds of films, plus a small office with a Mac for anyone who has to check in with the outside world. The freeform infinity pool has a diving board and looks straight out to sea.
The standout is the roof. A rooftop terrace with a built-in daybed catches the full sweep of the horizon, with Saba, St. Eustatius, and St. Kitts lined up across the water. On some nights the caretaker sets up an outdoor cinema in the garden, films under the stars, the kind of thing guests remember long after the trip.
