Three of the four bedrooms face the ocean, so those guests wake to the sound of the water, and the fourth looks over the tropical garden. Each is en-suite, and the whole house is set up to blur the line between the living space and the beach beyond.
The living room opens onto the terrace, and the kitchen has a breakfast area that leads straight to the poolside, so mornings drift easily from coffee to the beach. It is a house organized around being outside.
The pool sits on a wide terrace with the beach a few steps past it, room to sunbathe or dine outside, and the west-facing sunsets this run of coast gets. Direct beach access is the whole point here.
Princess Juliana Airport is about fifteen minutes by car, and Grand Case is roughly twenty-five minutes north. For dinner out, we send guests to La Main a la Pate on the Marigot marina, about ten minutes away. We can fill the fridge and bring in a chef for the nights you would rather eat in. At $9,450 a week in low season for all four bedrooms, L'Ecume des Jours comes down to the count of steps to the water: a handful, from the pool terrace to where Plum Bay meets Baie Longue.
