The outdoor space is the whole point. Multi-level terraces cascade down from the main level to a horseshoe-shaped heated pool, and beyond that to a wide lawn, so there is room to swim, sunbathe, and spread out on the grass, all with the sea in view.
Inside, the living room looks out to the water and holds a full-size pool table for the afternoons and evenings in. The kitchen and interior dining sit alongside, set up for cooking or for a chef.
The four bedrooms are equal in size, each with its own exterior access and a private terrace, two at each end of the house, one upper and one lower. The en-suite bathrooms have oversized double showers and keep the ocean in view even from inside. A hot tub and BBQ round out the outdoor side.
Princess Juliana Airport is about fifteen minutes by car, and Grand Case is roughly twenty-five minutes north, where we send guests to Bistrot Caraibes. Baie Rouge and Plum Bay are both a short drive. A chef and a provisioned kitchen can be arranged ahead of your stay. At $5,740 a week in low season for all four bedrooms, Mariposa trades on its outside: the cascading terraces, the lawn rolling down toward the sea, and a horseshoe pool shaped like nowhere else on the hill.
