Villa Turquoze

Villa Turquoze is the larger of two modern sister villas in the hills above Orient Bay, with four bedrooms, an infinity pool, and a view that takes in the bay, Pinel Island, and Tintamarre in one sweep. The architecture is clean and contemporary: glass, white walls, straight lines. That keeps the attention where it belongs, on the water below.

All four bedrooms open from inside the house, each air-conditioned with a king bed and its own bathroom. The open living area slides straight out to the sun deck, and the infinity pool sits right at the edge of the view. After dark, Turquoze does something its sister next door doesn't: the outdoor furniture lights up, and the whole terrace shifts into evening mode, the pool glowing at the edge of the hill.

Then there's the gym: fully equipped, facing the sea. A workout with Pinel Island in the window is a different kind of motivation, and it's not something many villas on the island offer.

Orient Beach is about a 5-minute drive down the hill: two miles of white sand, beach restaurants, and water sports. Grand Case and its restaurant row are roughly 12 minutes north. Le Pressoir, the best fine dining in Grand Case, is the reservation we make first. Princess Juliana Airport is around 25 minutes by car.

Villa Turquoze rents as a three- or four-bedroom villa, from $5,409 a week in low season. The move for big groups: combine it with Villa Topaze next door and you have a seven-bedroom estate for fourteen, the setup we recommend for multi-family trips and small destination weddings, with shared dinners at one villa and quiet mornings at the other.
